For many committed ecotourists, it is not enough to simply take part in low-impact, educational vacations to unique locations. Some are interested in going further, to get at the heart of what ecotourism really is. Total immersion in the concept is certainly one way to understand this growing industry and how it affects everything on the planet.

Ecotourism may be new to many in the general public, but the concept has been around for a number of years. In the 1980s, some enterprising travelers with an environmental consciousness began to develop projects that would take travelers to remote places on the globe or to locations where the natural or cultural resources were particularly threatened.

Find Out What Ecotourism Is Before Leaving Home

Ecotourism is a relatively new idea that has grown into a significant segment of the tourism industry. That simple statement, however, does not do justice to the holiday/travel concept that mixes enjoyment with social consciousness and environmental concern.

While ecotourism should certainly be separated from traditional mass tourism as a concept, supporters do not want to present ecotourism as a “cerebral activity” for those who want to work during their vacation. In fact, many proponents of ecotourism insist that the travel and activities in this tourism sector should be fun, first and foremost.

New York State Tourism Adventure Travel

When visiting new places, time is the enemy but if you plan to have a seven day stay in New York then you should have ample time in this busy city to explore and see all the ‘must do places’. One of the busiest visitor locations in the city is the Empire State Building and even if you don’t get to the top there is still a great deal to see.

Possibly equal to The State Building is The Statue of Liberty but owing to delays with the ferry trips it might be worth viewing this ‘beautiful lady’ (and an inspiration to many) from Ellis Island.

All About Breaking Jetlag And Being Comfortable

People who are used to traveling frequently, experience jetlag a lot. Sometimes even athletes traveling far and wide to other countries for participating in various tournaments, hold the jetlags responsible for their poor performance. Even businessmen traveling for long find jetlags as affecting their work. Thus we see jetlags affect the entirety of a person.

Basically jetlag is the condition that a human body experiences due to disorientation, after a long travel across one or several time zones. Jetlags happen usually when a person crosses the time zones and his daily schedule receives a sudden jolt. His internal body-clock then finds it difficult to adjust with the new ways and thus gets easily exhausted. Common symptoms are sleeplessness and tiredness, headaches and lack of concentration.
